As a Programmer Analyst, you will have the opportunity to enhance and develop new web based applications that support over 1000 associates and our customers.  The opportunities are beyond your normal Java-web development assignments.  You’ll be exposed to Java technologies like the Grails web application framework built on the Groovy programming language and will have the opportunity to work with our business to apply your creative thoughts and experiences to make a difference.


Involved in front end web design and/or web development (back end) activities, including the design, coding and test activities.

Participates in user acceptance testing as necessary and provides test support to the business analysts.

Provides detailed specifications in accordance with department standards, including designs for programs and prepares estimates of work effort.

Works directly with clients and business analysts to identify client needs and alternative solutions.

Writes well-structured, easily-maintained, efficient applications from moderate to high-level functional specifications for new and existing programs.
Develops and maintains a professional and technical knowledge.


Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 3 to 5 years programming experience. Will consider experience in system analysis and design in addition equivalent combination.

Programming languages and technologies:

a. Java: JDK 1.4-1.6+, J2EE; Groovy/Grails

b. Java: Groovy/Grails; Swing, Eclipse, Hibernate, JSF, JPA, JEE, EJB3, Glassfish, JBoss, Maven

c. Oracle, MS SQL, PL/SQL


General Development: Subversion, MS Windows XP-7, Linux, Unix

Knowledge of healthcare industry’s terminology is helpful
