Pittsburgh is Still the Place to Be

Pittsburgh is Still the Place to Be

I have mentioned in previous blog posts how Pittsburgh is one of the most up and coming places in the technology field. The city is filled with innovators and entrepreneurs and their new developments are attracting out of state investors and helping our city grow. Audrey Russo, CEO and President of the Pittsburgh Technology Council has helped Pittsburgh’s name recognition increase in the national tech marketplace.

At Logix Guru, we strongly believe in Pittsburgh’s technology growth, that’s why we’ve been in the area since the beginning of the new millennium. We work with some of the area’s most innovative firms. We can develop and fine tune products to help our clients succeed-that’s our mission. We can test the software being developed at every step of the design process to make sure that what is being given to clients is bug free and runs like a dream.

Let Logix Guru help your company grow. Call 724-733-4500 to speak with someone about how we can help you or email ajmani@logixguru.com. Let us help your company succeed. We come from a city of innovation and we would love to bring our innovative solutions to you.

The New Place for Technology

The New Place for Technology

Though this article is not the most recent, I stumbled across it while looking at different technology articles online. Facebook recently purchased Mobile Technologies, a Pittsburgh based company run by a CMU professor, and specifically mentioned in the article is the Jibbigo speech translation app. Facebook is always trying to stay ahead of the trends by predicting what its users will need and Jibbigo may be it. In the near future we may be seeing a new Facebook app using Jibbigo’s technology.

This further proves that Pittsburgh is becoming a city known for more than steel. Though we’re proud of our roots, there is more to this great city besides manufacturing. Because of all of the universities in town, many of the graduates stay in the city and develop their own companies with the connections and resources that they acquired during their undergraduate years. Or like with the company mentioned in the article, professors are even carving out time in their busy schedules to start their own firms.

Entrepreneurship is a valued trait here in Pittsburgh, where the people are known for working hard and staying loyal (this is for all the Buccos fans- we finally did it!). Once we believe in a project, there’s no hope of getting us to quit.

Logix Guru, a Pittsburgh based company, is the exact same. We work hard to deliver the best possible results to our clients and we will not stop until we succeed. Need help with finding an IT professional for your business or need help with developing software solutions or software testing? Give us a call at 724-733-4500 to learn more about how we can help you.

Enterprise Mobility Solutions

Enterprise Mobility Solutions

Logix Guru’s CEO has been in the technology field for years and has seen many trends come and go. He wrote an article about a new trend that will only become more pervasive in the modern workplace, Enterprise Mobility.  This is the set of solutions that a company takes to ensure that their employees can be connected at all times. Click on the link above to read the full article!

In the past, enterprise mobility has often involved giving employees a phone that was monitored by the company to ensure that it was being used for professional reasons.

More recently, many companies have begun the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program. These types of programs offer the employee more control over how they choose to access company information. As stated in the article, these BYOD programs can increase employee engagement, productivity, collaboration, and cost savings. These are all excellent ways to expand your company and increase the positivity of your corporate culture.

Logix Guru offers enterprise mobile application development and solutions consulting to determine how these new business practices can help your company. Email ajmani@logixguru.com if you would like to learn more.

How Software Testing Helps

How Software Testing Helps

Logix Guru is a Renaissance company. Like the more commonly used phrase Renaissance man, we have experience and can do a lot of different things well. Though a Renaissance man may be skilled at both painting landscapes and playing the mandolin, we at Logix Guru are skilled in different technical aspects. We can find the right candidate for an open IT position (and love to do it). We can also provide valuable software testing services to your company that will prove highly beneficial in the long run.

The article that can be accessed by the link above discusses the value of software testing from an IT professional’s point of view. Hiring professional testers to test out your software saves you time and money later down the road when you have to fix the software immediately because it was not compatible with another system. Instead of fixing it at the beginning of the process, it must be fixed after the process has ended to save your reputation.

Basically, when developing software, it’s crucial to test it before it can be launched to the client or to the public. It’s even better to bring in outside testers because they’re not biased. They can’t be. They want to get the job done and make sure the new software good to go.

TL;DR: Software testing is a great and necessary part of the SDLC.

Why Pittsburgh? These Yinzers Will Tell You

Why Pittsburgh? These Yinzers Will Tell You

Pittsburgh is a city that is set to explode anytime now. There’s nightlife, professional sports teams, our own dialect, amusement parks, an evolving art scene, and Pittsburgh Dad. You have to watch Pittsburgh Dad on YouTube. It’s hilarious. And true. Which are things that do not happen often on YouTube. Anyways…

If you’re looking to advance your career, Pittsburgh is one of the best places to go. We are a small enough city that our rent is still affordable and large enough that we have 3 professional sports teams that wear our black and gold with pride. We may be known for the manufacturing industry (where the name for the Steelers came from) but there’s universities, a huge hospital system, and science research out the wazoo (Bayer has a huge office here along with Westinghouse). There are many opportunities for launching or maintaining a career here and because it is a smaller city, it’s an affordable move that can offer new opportunities and great new experiences.

If you want to get a new career in IT in the Pittsburgh area, send your resume over to resume@logixguru.com. We call some of the largest companies in the city our clients and have a variety of types of positions available from them. We want to get you hired and all we need is your resume.
